Medical practitioners have dismissed rumors and local
beliefs that genital warts which are caused by certain types of the human
papilloma virus (HPV) cause cervical cancer in women. The health officers say
that most women who are diagnosed with genital warts start worrying over the
prospect of the disease transforming into cervix cancer since the disease is
visible to the human eye but slowly affects them.
90% of the genital
warts is caused by certain strains that specially affect the genital area the
virus is highly transmitted through skin-to skin contact and that was why it is
considered a sexually transmitted infection. The Human Papiloma Virus (HPV)
that causes genital warts was is not associated with cancer of the cervix which
is a common worry in women with the warts which have some type of HPV infection
though it is more common in people under the age of 30.
When one is diagnosed with genital warts he /she should
get immediate medical attention to relieve symptoms. As it is easy to identify
genital warts as diagnosis is made by visual inspection and one can get
treatment earlier. Most women think that the ailment causes cervical cancer
which is not but when one get those symptoms like rush or itchiness around the
vaginal area to visit the hospital as it is curable at an early stage.
Women can prevent
the disease by getting a Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) which can protect them from
the most common Human Papiloma Virus strains that cause genital warts and can
also protect against strains of HPV that are linked to cervical cancer. Men can
also get affected by this disease around their thighs and private part and they
should also visit the hospital for more information and treatment.
Parents should regularly check their children since the
disease can affect them at the age of 11 to 12 years.
